Mindset. It can be a game-changer.
Take for instance your to-do list. If you're like most people, you see your to-dos simply as things you have to get done.
A long to-do list has been a source of stress for many of us. If that's you, I challenge you to ask yourself why.
Chances are it's because you're looking at each activity on your list as an isolated task and just one more thing you have to take care of.
But if we broaden our mindset and see every item on that list as part of a whole, we can completely change our perspective.
In most cases, you wrote an item on your list because it's an action step toward a larger goal.
You buy that birthday gift so you can bless a friend or loved one. You clean the house so you can receive company. You write that outline to get one step closer to writing that book.
Each individual to-do is probably on there to get you one step closer to completing something you really want.
Go through your list today and identify what goal each to-do is helping you accomplish.
If it has no big picture value, then consider if it's worthy of your time.
Each individual action step toward a goal may not be a wildly exciting activity, but reaching your goals should be!
Once you can see each to-do as a stepping stone to accomplishing your goals, you can turn your to-to list into a Get-To-Do List!
