Adam Clarke's Commentary
Verse 6 Mine eyes - My approbation. Upon the faithful - The humble, upright followers of God. That they may dwell with me - Be my confidants and privy counsellors. No irreligious or wicked man, whatever his abilities may be, shall be countenanced or supported by me. I will purify my court from the base, the irreligious, the avaricious, the venal, the profligate, and the wicked. He that walketh in a perfect way - He that is truly religious. He shalt serve me - Shall be my prime minister, and the chief officer in my army, and over my finances.

Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
