What Does the Bible Say About Trees?

1. #1Jeremiah 17:8

   For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

   BSBHe is like a tree planted by the waters that sends out its roots toward the stream. It does not fear when the heat comes, and its leaves are always green. It does not worry in a year of drought, nor does it cease to produce fruit.

2. #2Psalms 1:3

   And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

   BSBHe is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does.

   For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

   BSBFor there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its tender shoots will not fail.

   Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord, because he cometh to judge the earth.

The tree grew large and strong; its top reached the sky, and it was visible to the ends of the earth. Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit was abundant, and upon it was food for all. Under it the beasts of the field found shelter, in its branches the birds of the air nested, and from it every creature was fed.

   And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

   BSBOut of the ground the LORD God gave growth to every tree that is pleasing to the eye and good for food. And in the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

   Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
